Elliot Kervyn (1989, Brussels, Belgium), is a Belgian artist.
Most of Kervyn’s work takes the form of site-specific mixed-media installations, creating a deliberate confusion on our classical perception of everyday’s reality.
After attending a foundation year in fine art and design at the “Gerrit Rietveld Fine Arts Academy” in Amsterdam (NL) and receiving a Bachelor in Sociology and Anthropology at the “Université Libre de Bruxelles” (BE), Kervyn graduated in 2017 from the prestigious art school “La Cambre” in Brussels (BE), with a Master degree in Urban Space. In the same year he was granted the prestigious Macors prize at La Mediatine, a renowned cultural institution in Brussels (BE), for most talented young artist in the sculpture category.
Kervyn’s work was first exhibited in 2014 during the artistic project “La force du changement“, presented by Hotel Charleroi, a dynamic and rich artistic initiative which gathered a multitude of international artists in a huge construction site in the city of Charleroi (BE). In 2015 he organised a solo show at a basketball terrain in a park in Brussels (BE) showing for the first time his ceramic produced B-balls. In 2017 Kervyn successfully completed an artist residency (during a period of 6 months) at the National Taiwan University of Arts in Taipei (Taiwan) where he had the opportunity to display his work in a former state factory.
